– BETTANE & DESSEAUVE GUIDE :
Domaine de la Mordorée
4 stars*
*Very high quality production, according to the “Notation des Domaines et Maisons” in the Guide Bettane & Desseauve.
“The estate offers wines full of expression, from the finest crus of the Vaucluse and Gard regions. Everything is done with the utmost respect for the terroirs, with the aim of producing wines worthy of their potential. Madeleine Delorme, accompanied by her daughter Ambre, continue to work with great care and determination in the spirit of excellence that is the hallmark of the domaine and this family winegrowing family. A superb range of full-bodied, saline whites and deep, delicate reds, enlivened by a thirst-quenching tension and a richness of flavour with a thirst-quenching tension and great balance. The estate’s style is increasingly racy and precise. The fourth star is fast approaching”.

– THE NEW BETTANE + DESSEAUVE 2024 : OUR TALENTS :
“They’re young, some of them kids on the block, some of them newcomers. In any case, all the people profiled in the following pages have, over the space of a few vintages, demonstrated a singular talent that should be followed closely. Each of them is shaping the landscape of a new viticulture, one that is ambitious, precise and aware of ecological issues. Ambre Delorme: the phoenix of Mordorée “The emotion that a bottle of wine can give, however great it may be, sometimes tends to make us forget the human destinies that helped bring it into being. In 2015, we were saddened to hear of the death of Christophe Delorme. This passionate winegrower, son of Francis, the creator of the Tavel estate with the unforgettable name, left Madeleine, his wife, and Ambre, his daughter, to look after 60 hectares spread across the major appellations in the south of the valley (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Côtes-du-Rhône, etc.). With constant attention to organic and biodynamic viticulture, the mother and daughter duo have continued to build on their success, creating a sustainable ecosystem on their mosaic of forty parcels spread over eight communes – a mammoth task – capable of withstanding the excesses of the climate. As for the wines, this estate, which has long been renowned for its quality, has continued to rise to the level of a great wine, displaying aromatic finesse and structural qualities of great delicacy. In Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the delicious reine-des-bois and the airy dame-voyageuse have joined the ranks of the appellation’s finest. In short, as well as inheriting the vision of these two great men, Madeleine and Ambre have also reaffirmed the region’s distinctive sense of hospitality, with an estate that is very active in wine tourism and the creation of a sublime guest villa ten minutes from Avignon with a view of Mont Ventoux. Increasingly demanding of itself, this estate is on its way to the top.”

Domaine de la Mordorée, La Reine des Bois 2019, lirac
“Madeleine Delorme and Ambre, her daughter, carry on with care and determination the spirit of excellence that is the hallmark of this estate and this winegrowing family. While all the wines are full of expression, we particularly like the liracs, including this reine-des-bois, which offers depth, delicacy and great balance. A personal favourite. 93/100 – 24 euros “

– TÉLÉ 7 JOURS BETTANE & DESSEAUVE SELECTION :
“The Art of Living”
“For some years now, the colour of our summer wines has been more or less the same. This is to forget that, beneath its light dresses, rosé offers a world where anything is possible, as shown by this selection from the experts at Bettane+Desseauve.”

Domaine de la Mordorée
La Dame Rousse, Tavel 2022
“Tavel is the historic appellation for rosé wines in France. Located in the Rhône Valley, it is dedicated solely to the production of this colour. While the colour is strong in the wines it produces – it’s one of its many distinctive features – this distinctive wine is at the crossroads between intense rosé and light red. With this benchmark estate, wine-lovers have in their hands a great wine at a great price. It can even be left to age. -17€ “
With kind regards,
Madeleine & Ambre Delorme
